Park Construction

Contact:  Mr. Jonathan Schilk, RLA, Project Manager

Status:  Completed Construction 2011.

Description:  This project was funded partially with a Federal Grant administered through WSDOT.  The scope of this project included the reconstruction of a historic overlook along SR11 (Chuckanut Drive), minor highway modifications, modification to an existing access from the site to the highway, a parking lot and a pedestrian trail that connects the parking area to the overlook.  Three types of soil retentions systems were utilized on the project for aesthetics and cost effectiveness.  As with many of our projects, the site access required permitting through WSDOT. Grading and drainage of the site required compliance with Ecology’s Stormwater Management Manual, and R&E provided construction administration to assist in the level of documentation required to satisfy federal funding requirements.
