R&E Intern Featured in BTC Student Spotlight

Our intern Ross Hunnicutt was recently featured in Bellingham Technical College’s quarterly publication. He’s had the opportunity to travel to Kenya twice to serve with Engineers Without Borders and improve water access in rural areas.

July 2014 – R&E Hires Janice Marlega, P.E.

Reichhardt & Ebe Engineering is happy to have Janice Marlega, P.E. as one of our newest employees. Janice comes to R&E with 22 years of experience managing public works projects from preliminary engineering through construction. Her experience includes managing all phases of work on street, intersection, sidewalk, utility (water, sewer, and storm), and bridge projects. Janice has been involved with project scoping, securing funding, design, permitting, utility coordination, right-of-way acquisition, and construction management. She has also managed several downtown revitalization projects that included street reconstruction, intersection improvements, pedestrian and bicycle facilities, utility upgrades, stormwater improvements, undergrounding of overhead powerlines, and landscaping. These projects involved extensive coordination with businesses and property owners, various agencies and utility companies.

City of Mt. Vernon – Dowtown Flood Protection Project Phase 2

Groundbreaking occurred on June 15, 2013 for the Downtown Flood Protection Project Phase 2.

April 13, 2012 – Kok Rd. Bridge Replacement Open to Traffic

April 13, 2012 marked the long awaited opening of the Kok Rd. Bridge Replacement to vehicle traffic.  The opening was marked by an informal ribbon cutting attended by City Staff, Council and Mayor Scott Korthuis.   Minor work remains to complete pedestrian safety, landscaping and lighting elements, all expected to be wrapped up in about a month.  Thank you to the City of Lynden and Interwest Construction, Inc. for making this another great project.

April 12, 2012 – Sedro-Woolley SR20 Ribbon Cutting

Congratulations to the City of Sedro-Woolley on the official opening of the SR20 Widening and Bicycle / Pedestrian Improvements project.  A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on April 12, 2012 and was well attended by City, Skagit County and State officials.  Thanks again to the City of Sedro-Woolley for having R&E be a part of this great project.

R&E to begin work on City of Everson Wastewater Treatment Plant Effluent Outfall Alternatives

Reichhardt & Ebe Engineering teamed with Stantec Consulting Corporation and is looking forward to beginning work shortly to evaluate alternatives for the City of Everson Wastewater Treatment Plant Outfall to the Nooksack River. The project will evaluate alternative methods, locations and costs for the wastewater treatment plant effluent discharge to meet current NPDES requirements. The current outfall has sustained damage on multiple occasions over the past 20 years during flood conditions.

Ian Hinton Passes Professional Engineer Examination

Congratulations to Ian Hinton in passing the Professional Engineer Examination. Ian has been with R&E full time since 2007 and had previously interned in the Lynden office. Ian continues his work as a project engineer on a variety of projects including wastewater pump stations, water system analysis and design, transportation projects and construction management.

Mike Kooy Passes Professional Engineer Examination

Congratulations to Mike Kooy in passing the Professional Engineer Examination. Mike has been with R&E full time since 2006 and had previously interned in the Lynden office. Mike continues his work as a project engineer on a variety of projects including trails, water systems, transportation projects and construction management.
